Counselling

Initial Intake session:

50 min * $155 +

Scheduling an initial intake session with us is the best way to ensure that all of your questions and concerns are fully addressed before we begin your healing journey. This is also a perfect time to get to know your counsellor a bit to make sure they are a good fit for you. Remember, this is your journey. If you feel that your needs are not being fully met or that a counsellor isn't the best fit for your situation, you have the power to speak up and state your needs, and we will respect that.

Individual Counselling:

50 min * $155 + tax

90 min * $240 + tax

Counselling sessions are just as multi-faceted as you are, so there is no "one-size-fits-all" template for your one-on-one encounters with your counsellor. However, we are able to help you unpack trauma from childhood to adulthood, deal with anxiety or depression, work through platonic or romantic relationship challenges, manage and understand ADHD, and address other obstacles to your happiness and health.

The Healing WavesCounselling approach is person-centred and emphasizes mindfulness techniques and somatic attachment psychotherapy to guide individuals toward feeling healthy, whole and empowered in their own skin. We believe in meeting every individual exactly where they are, and we focus on helping you feel connected to yourself and nature.

Youth Counselling:

50 min * $15

90 min * $240

Young people often have their own unique challenges to face as they transition from childhood into adulthood, and it is common for them to feel isolated from the authority figures in their lives, unable to open up and be their authentic selves.

We work together with youth to help them understand and navigate the challenges of life, providing simple, practical tools and techniques that can offer a calming, centring touchpoint to rely on when they are experiencing intense or unfamiliar emotions.

Couples/Relationship Counselling:

50 min * $180

90 min * $270

110 min * $350

You may have tried marriage counselling in Vancouver before, but we encourage you to try the Healing Waves approach to couples counselling in Vancouver BC.

Whether you are married, cohabitating or in an alternative type of partnership, our counsellors are well-equipped to help everyone in the relationship explore different communication strategies. An openness and willingness to try new kinds of communication can help each person in the relationship develop a stronger sense of empathy as well as a "toolbox" of effective, healthy communication methods.

This is essential for helping couples find unmet needs and discover the root causes of frustrations and challenges they are facing. Couples counselling can teach you how to be a supportive and fulfilling partner while effectively communicating frustrations and needs.

A medical support letter is a formal document written by a healthcare professional, typically for a patient, to communicate medical information to a third party. This type of letter is often requested to support applications, accommodations, or benefits such as disability claims, workplace accommodations, school support, or housing needs. This can often take 1-2 hours depending on the requirements which is why there is a fee to compensate for our practitioners time.
